Congenital conditions and their local context

In this section, each program provides information on wide range of major congenital anomalies, enriched with data on demographic indicators and risk factor prevalence in the underlying population. In addition, program leaders provide comments and additional background that help give context and meaning to the findings.

Information from the program and from the country (the latter from multiple additional sources) is used to generate estimates of significant public health relevance, such as the estimated number of cases attributable to common modifiable risk factors in the program and in the country. Short texts guide the reader through the tables and graphs, highlighting key points and methodologic issues for consideration.
